How to Take AtLarge Nutrition Products
The following are recommended use instructions. They will sometimes supersede the recommend use directions on the product label.
* In the case of AXCEL please also read the product label for safety warnings.
Nitrean and Nitrean+
Nitrean and Nitrean+ are our proprietary protein-only nutritional supplements. Their unique blend of whey (3 fractions – isolate, concentrate, and hydrolyzed), casein, and egg proteins make for a superior net retention and utilization when compared to other protein supplements on the market. Per our Nitrean and Nitrean+ challenge you can use ½ as much powder as the competition and get equal or better results.
Nitrean or Nitrean+ can be used to augment your protein intake whenever you feel it is appropriate. At a minimum, they should be used as described below:
* 2 scoops in water or milk (milk if you are not lactose intolerant and trying to gain weight) after training.
* If you do not eat before bed 1 scoop in water or milk.
Opticen
Like Nitrean and Nitrean+, Opticen incorporates a whey, casein, and egg protein blend for superior net retention and utilization. Opticen is specifically formulated to be the ideal post-workout (PWO) supplement for hard training individuals (endurance athletes will want to augment its carbohydrate content). It can also be used as a convenient meal replacement.
Opticen will be used in lieu of Nitrean, Nitrean+, or any other protein supplement for PWO purposes.
* One serving (3 scoops) mixed in water or milk (milk if you are not lactose intolerant and trying to gain weight) PWO.
MAXIMUS
MAXIMUS is our “weight gainer” which can also be an excellent post-workout (PWO) shake. One serving of MAXIMUS is quite large at 5 scoops. Many users prefer to break it down into two shakes.
MAXIMUS contains Microlactin® which can help with minor joint pain and helps to enhance general recovery.
* One serving mixed in water or milk (milk if you are not lactose intolerant) once daily IN ADDITION TO YOUR NORMAL DAILY INTAKE. One serving of MAXIMUS mixed in milk provides over 1,000 calories. If the user merely substitutes its caloric content for foods they would normally consume it will not be an effective weight gainer. For those who struggle to gain weight a great way to take MAXIMUS is after a meal. This helps to promote expansion of the stomach and thus an increased appetite.
* If used as a PWO shake use 3 scoops mixed in water or milk. You can then take another full shake at some other point in the day (if weight gain is a goal).
RESULTS
RESULTS must be taken every single day to impart its benefits.
* 2 scoops in water or mixed with a protein shake after training. On off days 2 scoops in water or a protein shake taken with a meal (timing is not particularly important – you pick the meal).
BCAA+
BCAA+ can be taken whenever a spike in protein synthesis (your body making new protein potentially for recovery or growth) is desired. As meals will already stimulate protein synthesis BCAA+ should be taken for that purpose between them (protein synthesis will remain elevated for 2-6 hours after a meal depending upon the macronutrient content of said meal – high fat meals take longer to digest thus will keep it elevated longer - BCAA ingestion when protein synthesis is already spiked will not further increase it).
BCAA+ is an excellent choice for low calorie diets as it allows you to spike synthesis with almost no calories.
* Take one serving approximately 40 minutes prior to training. BCAA compete with tryptophan for entry into the brain. Tryptophan can be converted to serotonin in the brain. Serotonin increases perceptions of fatigue thus BCAA supplementation can help to provide a feeling of greater energy when taken prior to training.
Creatine 500
Creatine needs to be taken daily to impart its benefits.
* Take 5g daily mixed with your favorite juice or a protein shake. Timing is not important.
ETS
ETS must be taken daily to experience its benefits.
* 8 capsules daily taken as preferred (4 in the morning and 4 in the evening – all 8 in one sitting etc.). Total dosing is important, not timing.
AXCEL
AXCEL can be taken strictly for training energy and thus only on training days, but to experience its full benefits to include increased mental focus it should be taken daily.
* Ramp up dosing as recommended on the label. NEVER exceed the maximum daily dose of 4 capsules. Take 1-4 capsules approximately one hour prior to training. If training in the evening, be sure to take your dose at least 6 hours prior to bed. Stimulating effects will last for several hours.
