Adrian Larsen - Bench Press Specialist

Adrian Larsen is a very unique lifter with an inspiring story. He was born with dislocated hips and club feet. He was also born with a very strong spirit and will. At birth, doctors told his parents he would never walk. When he began walking they said he would never walk without assistance. He promptly proceeded to walk without assistance and then to participate in organized sports such as basketball!

Like we said; a very unique lifter, and a very unique man.

Adrian first tried lifting weights his freshman year in high school. He very quickly found he had quite the proclivity for benching. In fact, he broke his high school’s record in short order and then moved on to a bigger stage by competing in the WABDL less than a year later.

Adrian’s competitive accomplishments are literally too numerous to list in their entirety (with innumerable first place finishes). Suffice it say that he has enjoyed great success in the sport of competition bench pressing since the day he started. He has benched 535 lbs with no special equipment (also known as raw), and over 700 lbs with a bench shirt. His goal for 2010 is an 800 lbs shirted bench press in the 220 lbs weight class.
