Remember, Chase was competing in the novice and open classes with men who were many years his senior!
Chase's Pre-Contest Diet
Chase decided to do something very different for his pre-contest dieting phase. He opted to go with a nearly all liquid diet for the entire period. Chase was assisted in designing his pre-contest diet and exercise regimen by Phil Hernon. Phil is a former competitive IFBB bodybuilder best known for his incredible size. Phil could certainly be considered someone who helped to usher in today's era of incredible size combined with razor-sharp conditioning.
Below are the contents of Chase's diet for nearly 3 ½ months (please note AtLarge Nutrition does NOT recommend others follow such a diet):
Nitrean
Opticen
Olive oil
Whole grains
The above accounted for nearly all of his ingested calories during this 3 ½ month period. He also included vitamin and mineral supplementation as well as AtLarge's ETS to help him endure the rigors of intense training while in a caloric deficit.
Chase consumed Nitrean or Opticen 7 times per day and had this to say:
|
"Virtually my only protein source for three and a half months was Nitrean and Opticen seven times per day (how many protein powders can you say wouldn't make you sick after that!)."

Chase's Strength!
Chase isn't one of those bodybuilders who only looks good but has no "go" behind his show. Chase is as strong as he looks. He trains using perfect form and a full ROM. Here are some of his personal bests:
Deadlift - 500 x 12
Squat (Olympic style, ass to the floor) - 450 x 5
Incline Bench Press - 335 x 6
Bent-Over Rows - 370 x 10

Chase's Goals
Chase's short-term goal is to add enough lean muscle to compete in the heavyweight class at his next contest.
His long term goals are a bit hazier as he wants to see what direction bodybuilding as a sport takes.
We at AtLarge wish Chase the best in his continued pursuit of physical perfection! We also encourage you to take a cue from Chase and use AtLarge's products to help you to optimize your body!
